We've had a very good trip to get here - although it did last a while to say the least - Heathrow to New York as 6 hours 50 instead of 7 hours 40 and then we had the transfer flight to San Juan in Puerto Rico of 3 hours and 20 minutes.
We saw the 'Welcome to New York' sign at JFK Airport and thought of Grandma and her photo there three years ago and Chris really enjoyed his first visit to the 'Big Apple'.
In the queue for immigration - and, by the way, this was our very first visit to the US without the dreaded green immigration form to fill in - Elizabeth spotted the actress Jemima Rooper - well-known for her roles in the film 'Kinky Boots' and for playing the part of Sally Smith in the Crucible's production of 'Me and My Girl'.
Immigration staff do get steadily friendlier - they even have a notice up saying that they will cordially welcome visitors to the US - what on earth's happening?!

We got to the hotel at about 8.15pm local time - that's 1.15am UK time and have of course woken up by 5am locally and decided that we will not be getting any more sleep - so it's time to blog!
I'm sure maybe a certain young man may still be asleep! sounds like a good trip so far, with celeb spotting too. Looking forward to seeing photos and hearing all about your days. Matt and Deb xxx
